FREE ART | SERIES

Ronald Chase (see above block) has always believed that engaging with the arts enriches life and fosters fulfilling experiences. In the 1990s, he founded SF Art & Film for Teenagers, a program that has provided thousands of young people and adults with invaluable artistic opportunities. In 2014, at the age of 79, Ronald decided to clean out his studio. Recognizing that he had created more artwork than could ever be exhibited, he saw this as a chance to connect with the community. Instead of discarding his pieces, he chose to give away over 600 works on paper, resulting in a remarkable act of generosity.

The event was organized, people lined up, and I knew it was a moment that needed to be captured!

In November 2023, I visited Ronald’s studio to document his reflections on life and purpose. My goal with this series is to create an intimate portrait of this extraordinary artist and his incredible generosity. To reach a wider audience, I created this series as a collection of short, digestible videos. Each episode, incremental and sometime repetitive, offers a unique insight, allowing viewers to enjoy the experience whether they watch just one or the entire seven-part series. Ronald is a truly exceptional individual who has always given so much to those around him. I hope you find these short videos as engaging and inspiring as I do!
